In addition to prices across different models, laptop computers can vary in cost even for the same model purchased from different stores. If you know the specific laptop model you're interested in purchasing, or even if you're just checking prices for laptops in general, a price comparison website is a good place to get prices across a variety of stores.
Instruction.
1. Navigate to price comparison website Nextag. Similar sites that also have prices for laptop computers include Bizrate, PriceGrabber and Shopzilla.
2. Enter the word "laptop" into the text box at the top of the page and click on the green "Find It" button. Alternatively, enter the specific name of the model you're looking for if you have a specific computer in mind for which you'd like to see available prices.
3. Narrow your search by brand, price, size, memory and other attributes, if you are not looking for a specific model. In the menu on the left side of the page, click on a brand to search for prices on laptop computers only for that brand. Select a price range to search only for computers within that price range. Click on a display size range to search for computers within that display size range. Look through and select the remaining attributes to narrow down your search even further.
4. Examine the list of laptop computers displayed to you. Find a laptop that you're interested in viewing prices for, and select the green "Compare Prices" button to the right of the laptop's name to get a list of prices for that particular laptop. Note that if the particular model you're interested in is only available from one store, the "Compare Prices" button will be replaced with a "See Store" button that will take you directly to the store.
