- No minimum traffic or content limitations – any site big or small can use it
- Compatible with all major CMS platforms, Plugins for some of the main platforms
- Tool is slick, a breeze to use and is fully customizable
- Publisher Control Panel is awesome! J
Disadvantages:
- Relatively new platform- Currently advertisers can pay with PayPal and credit card only
- Not enough statistics
Bottom line:
We feel Komoona is a fantastic tool for small to medium sites! We would like to be able to see some more traffic statistics and more payment options for advertisers. Other than that we feel the CMS plugins, the ease of use, the customizability and the fact it is free, makes it a great all around solution for bloggers and site owners. We’ve decided to try it out on Techiemania, so feel free to support us and advertise on our site using our Komoona tool. You can try the Komoona’s Ad Wizard demo Here and the Control Panel demo Here – we’ve summed up the process below…
How does this work:
Publishers need to sign up for Komoona, specify some basic settings, choose to either use their own PayPal Merchant account or use Komoona billing (for a small fee) and then copy/paste a simple Java script on to their site. A ‘Place Holder’ banner appears (default Flash banner or custom made) on the site which prompts the reader/advertiser to start advertising. The size of the banner, it’s location on the page, the price of the ad and the banner design are all customized by the publisher via his Control Panel (review below).- When a reader/advertiser clicks the banner the main Komoona tool launches, the advertiser chooses to upload or create a banner:

- Uploading an ad is done by locating the file the advertiser wants to use. Creating a banner lets the advertiser get creative and build a banner from scratch:

- Komoona offers a few neat templates and gives publishers the option of creating their own custom template in their Control Panel:

- Once the banner is ready the advertiser goes on to the final stage which is choosing how long he wants to buy the ad space for and choosing a payment method. Currently advertisers can pay via Credit Card or PayPal:

- There is also a third option “Web Master Code” which allows publishers to upload test ads or give away ad spots without having to pay for them.
Once the payment was made an instant email notification goes out to both the advertiser and the publisher. The email notifies them of the new ad and asks the publisher to review the ad and either accept (publish) or decline it. If the publisher chooses to decline the ad no charge is made to the advertiser.
The Control Panel:
All aspects of the Komoona tool can be controlled and modified from the Control Panel, we found it straight forward and easy to get around. Here’s a quick overview:‘Manage Ads’ tab:
